Position: Finance Officer
Location: Kwale County, Kenya
Summary: Fanikisha Foundation, an indigenous and women-led non-governmental organization, is seeking a qualified and detail-oriented individual to fill the position of Finance
Officer. The Finance Officer will be responsible for overseeing financial management and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and procedures for a project aimed at increasing
awareness and uptake of post-pregnancy family planning in Kwale County. The successful candidate will play a key role in budgeting, financial reporting, and monitoring project
expenditures.
Responsibilities:
1. Financial Management:
- Develop and maintain project budgets in collaboration with the project team.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and donor guidelines.
- Review and process financial transactions, including payments, reimbursements, and procurement requests.
- Monitor project expenditures and prepare regular financial reports for management and donors.
- Conduct regular financial analysis and provide recommendations for cost-effective project implementation.
- Assist in the preparation of annual audits and facilitate the resolution of any financial audit findings.
2. Budgeting and Reporting:
- Support the Project Coordinator in developing project budgets and financial plans.
- Monitor budget utilization and provide regular updates on budget performance.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure timely submission of financial reports to donors and other relevant stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the project team to analyze project financial data and inform decision-making.
3. Compliance and Documentation:
- Maintain proper financial documentation and ensure adherence to record-keeping requirements.
- Ensure compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.
- Support the procurement process, including vendor selection, bidding, and contract management.
- Conduct periodic financial reviews to identify any discrepancies or irregularities.
- Provide guidance and training to project staff on financial procedures and compliance.
4. Donor Relations:
- Collaborate with the Project Coordinator in addressing financial queries and requirements from donors.
- Liaise with donors regarding financial reporting, budget revisions, and audit processes.
- Prepare financial documents and respond to requests for financial information from donors.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Must have at least CPA Part Two
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field will be an added advantage.
- Proven experience (at least 3-5 years) in financial management, preferably within the non-profit sector or development projects.
- Strong knowledge of financial regulations, accounting principles, and budgeting.
- Proficiency in financial management software and Microsoft Excel.
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in financial data management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Fluency in English and Kiswahili, both spoken and written.

Summary: Fanikisha Foundation, an indigenous and women-led non-governmental organization, is seeking a qualified and dynamic individual to fill the role of Project Coordinator.
The Project Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of a project aimed at increasing awareness and uptake of post-pregnancy family planning in Kwale
County. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth implementation of the project, collaborating with stakeholders, and monitoring progress.
Responsibilities:
1. Project Management:
- Develop and implement project work plans, ensuring alignment with project objectives and timelines.
- Coordinate project activities and resources to ensure efficient and effective implementation.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks and challenges, and develop mitigation strategies.
- Provide regular updates and reports on project activities, outcomes, and challenges to stakeholders.
2. Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with relevant government agencies, partner organizations, and community leaders to ensure effective coordination and cooperation.
- Conduct regular meetings and consultations with stakeholders to ensure their active involvement in project implementation.
- Foster positive relationships with stakeholders and maintain effective communication channels.
3. Financial Management:
- Work closely with the Finance Officer to develop project budgets and financial plans.
- Monitor project expenditures and ensure compliance with financial guidelines and donor requirements.
- Review and approve project-related financial documents, such as expense reports and procurement requests.
- Provide support in financial reporting and assist in budget revisions, as needed.
4. Monitoring and Evaluation:
- Develop and implement a monitoring and evaluation framework to track project progress and outcomes.
- Collect, analyze, and report project data, ensuring data quality and accuracy.
- Use monitoring and evaluation findings to inform project adjustments and improvements.
- Ensure compliance with monitoring and evaluation requirements from the donor and partner organizations.
5. Team Leadership:
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to project staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Conduct regular meetings and provide feedback to project team members.
- Facilitate capacity-building activities and identify training needs for the project team.
- Promote teamwork, collaboration, and knowledge sharing among project staff.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., project management, public health, public relations, community development, international development).
- Proven experience (at least 3-5 years) in project coordination and management, preferably within the field of sexual and reproductive health or related areas.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software.
- Knowledge of donor regulations and reporting requirements.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating leadership and problem-solving skills.
- Fluency in English and Kiswahili, both spoken and written.
